Refund Policy
How refunds work for Saref subscriptions, and how refunds work for payments a merchant takes from their own customers.
Last updated 21 July 2026
1. Two different things
There are two kinds of refund in Saref, and they are governed by different rules:
- Saref subscription fees — money you pay us for a Pro or Team plan. Covered by sections 2 and 3 below.
- Merchant payments — money your customers pay you through a pay page. Covered by sections 4 to 6. Saref never holds these funds, so a customer refund is always issued by the merchant, not by us.
2. Saref subscription refunds
- The Free plan costs nothing and is the intended way to evaluate Saref before paying.
- Paid plans are billed in advance. Cancelling stops the next renewal and your workspace keeps paid features until the end of the period already paid for.
- We do not refund unused time on a monthly plan by default.
- If you were charged in error, charged twice, or charged after cancelling, contact us and we will refund the incorrect charge in full.
- Yearly plans cancelled within 14 days of the initial purchase may be refunded on request, less any period already used. This window is a template value and must be confirmed against consumer law in each market before launch.
Approved subscription refunds are returned to the original payment method through our billing processor, normally within 5 to 10 business days.
3. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any statutory cancellation or refund right you have as a consumer. Where consumer law gives you a stronger right than this policy, that right applies. Business customers buying in the course of trade may not have the same statutory rights.
4. Refunding your own customers
When your customer pays on-chain, the funds go straight from their wallet to yours. Saref cannot reverse that transfer. A refund is therefore a new outbound transaction that you send, recorded against the original order.
- Saref can detect the payer's wallet address from the original transaction so you can refund it in a tap, or you can enter a destination address supplied by the customer.
- Each refund is tracked with its own status against the order, and full or partial amounts are supported.
- You are responsible for confirming the destination address before sending. A refund sent to a wrong address is not recoverable.
- Cash and card takings recorded in Saref must be refunded through the tender they were taken on; Saref only records the outcome.
5. On-chain payments are final
Blockchain settlement has no chargeback mechanism. Neither Saref, the merchant, the customer, nor the network can reverse a confirmed transfer. This means:
- A customer cannot claw back a payment through their bank or card issuer.
- A refund only happens if the merchant chooses to send one.
- Merchants should publish their own refund and cancellation terms to customers before checkout.
6. Customer disputes
If you paid a business through a Saref-hosted pay page and want a refund, contact that business directly — their name and contact details appear on your receipt. Saref hosts the checkout and keeps the record; the commercial relationship and the money are with the merchant.
If a merchant is using Saref fraudulently, tell us at support@saref.co and we will investigate the account, even though we cannot recover the funds.
